IKOBI has held a meeting with President Eom Jong-hwa of Sejong University to discuss Sejong University’s global strategy, potential entry into Indonesia, and collaborative opportunities with IKOBI.

IKOBI Launch

Established the Indonesia-Korea Business Initiative (IKBI) for economic cooperation between Korea and Indonesia, in collaboration with IKOBI, the Association for Smart Industry Promotion, Dr. Purba (former Indonesian Senator), and Indonesian lawyer Saudaranta Tarigan. Offices are planned to be set up in Surabaya, Jakarta, and Medan, Indonesia

Hosting the 2024 I&E Economic Forum

On June 19, 2024, IKOBI successfully hosted the Korea-Indonesia Economic Forum at the Korea Press Center with support from the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy. The event was attended by the Indonesian Embassy, the Indonesia Investment Authority, bipartisan Korean lawmakers, and representatives from companies such as LG, Korea National Railway, Byucksan Power, along with Indonesian business leaders.

Hosted the ASNC International Negotiation Competition

IKOBI hosted the ASNC International Negotiation Competition at the Korea Press Center. Following the preliminary rounds held in Medan, Indonesia, three teams from Korea (Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, and Handong Global University) competed against three Indonesian teams in the finals. The winning and runner-up teams received prizes of 2 million KRW and 1 million KRW, respectively.

IKOBI discussed cooperation between Korea and Indonesia after a meeting at the National Assembly with Democratic Party member Park Soo-hyun and former Indonesian Senator Dr. Purba Parlindungan.

Workshop on the Relocation of Indonesia's Capital

IKOBI and the Smart Industry Promotion Association are hosting a workshop on the relocation of Indonesia's capital on November 9, supported by the law firm Geumsung. The workshop, moderated by IKOBI, features special guest Omyeong, former Deputy Prime Minister. Panel presentations will be conducted by Secretary-General Park Tae-seo from SIPA, Indonesian lawyer Saudaranta Tarigan from Geumsung, and Insyafiah, Director of Funding from the Indonesian National Capital Relocation Agency, along with representatives from the Ministry of National Development Planning.
